April Fools' Reply

Yesterday's April Fools' review nearly caused a friend to buy a case of Yellow Tail and two regular visitors to remove their links to my site! In response:

Eden - Would I ever steer you wrong?
Sheena - Please don't remove me from your favourites...
Erin - I don't know how you got your response in before I pulled the gag, but I hope you have recovered from the shock...

Cheers!

For those of you who missed it, this was my gag tasting note:

"The 2006 Yellow Tail Shiraz defies description. Succulent aromas of black fruit, pepper and spice are followed by wave after wave haunting aromas - leather, oak, cocoa, tobacco, and smoke. On the palate, this wine envelops the palate in rich, velvelety tannins, with a 2 minute plus finish that hints at decades of cellaring before it reaches its full potential. The new standard for all of Oz, and extraordinarily well priced.
Score: 19.5/20
Price: C$12.85 (SAQ)

NOTE - Happy April Fools' Day. This wine was not scored - I guzzled a bottle on vacation once (reasonable vin de table) but my trusty tasting sheet and pen were nowhere to be seen..."

I pulled it for two reasons: 1) I was genuinely worried people wouldn't read to the bottom, and 2) I don't want all of those additional hits!
Cheers!

Joe,

The first line of the tasting note would not provoke too much disagreement!

Will I find a tasting note on your site? I would love to see your photo of that bottle...
